The momentous day the final Harry Potter book came out carried a unique sense of jubilation and sorrow for millions of fans across the world. We had all been impatiently waiting for J.K. Rowling to finish the seventh fantasy novel for what felt like forever but, at the same time, had a devastating awareness that the wizarding world was about to come to a woeful end for us.How wrong we all were. After the Harry Potter books came the final few films as well as Pottermore, the digital heart of Rowling’s charming world, movie spin-off Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the play that showed how our favourite Hogwarts alumni had gone on to dealt with adulthood.
But, despite how enchanted we were by the follow-ups, there was always one question on all of our magically-incompetent minds: Were we ever going to get a proper Voldemort origin story?Well, fear no more muggles, a fan-created origin film, approved by Warner Bros, has teleported its way from your overactive imagination straight into reality.Tryangle Films set up a Kickstart page in an attempt to raise funds for their project Voldemort: Origins Of The Heir, a film based on Tom Marvolo Riddle’s life before he became Lord Voldemort, last year. However the campaign was pulled in July 2016 and the project suspended as they engaged in talks with Warner Bros, the film company who distributed the original eight Potter feature films.Just as fans began to give up hope of the follow-up ever getting made, news emerged that Tryangle had reached an agreement with Warner Bros over the nonprofit movie which will be available on Youtube.
Director Gianmaria Pezzato confirmed to gaming website Polygon that the American entertainment company is allowing them to make the film “in a nonprofit way.He said: “We had a private and confidential discussion with Warner Bros who contacted us during the period of the crowdfunding campaign. The only thing we can say is that they let us proceed with the film, in a non profit way, obviously. We wondered, ‘What made Tom Riddle become Voldemort? What happened in those years, and what really went down at Hogwarts when he came back?’ A lot goes unspoken. This is story we want to tell: The rise of the Dark Lord before Harry Potter and his first demise.”
The movie, which is due to begin post-production is the upcoming months, stars Stefano Rossi as the young Tom Marvolo Riddle, the future Lord Voldemort, during his rise to power. In addition, Maddalena Orcali plays a brand new character: Grisha MacLaggen, the heir to Gryffindor who desperately tries to stop the emergence of the evil antagonist.Fans are over the moon about the teaser trailer, which was uploaded to Youtube on May 29 and has already gained 30 million views on Facebook and almost 3 million on Youtube. Twitter blew up after the thrilling announcement, with hundreds of social media users airing their enthusiasm.

With the legal obstacles now behind them, director Pezzato and co-director Stefano Prestia hope to release the film by the end of 2017. I don’t know about you, but I for one can’t wait to see how exactly Tom Riddle became the evil Dark Lord whose name we do not speak
